The 2010 Winter Equestrian Festival will take place at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center from January 13 through April 4, 2010. This is the longest running equestrian event in the world, which hosts national and international competitions for Hunters, Jumpers, and Dressage. Approximately 3,000 equestrian athletes are expected to compete from the United States and Europe.

Spring Fling

Lake Lytal Park
Spring Fling is the largest spring training event in the country for women's collegiate lacrosse and secondary prep schools. Teams will travel during their spring break and conduct scrimmages and official NCAA contests throughout their stay. The event will be held at several locations including Mirasol Park in Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Lytal in West Palm Beach, Katz Field in Royal Palm Beach and Village Park in Wellington.

International Polo Club Palm Beach
The prestigious USPA Gold Cup, first played in 1974, is a symbol of professionalism, good sportsmanship and high goal polo at its finest. First introduced at Oakbrook Polo Club in Illinois, it then headed north to Milwaukee Polo Club in 1975 and remained there until 1978. After moving south in 1979, the USPA Gold Cup continued a seventeenyear stretch at Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, only to move down the road to Boca Raton at Royal Palm Polo & Sports Club in 1996. In 2002, the USPA Gold Cup headed back up north to Greenwich Polo Club where play resumed until 2004. Aiken, SC then hosted the Gold Cup in 2005 and 2006. Now International Polo Club Palm Beach is pleased to host this prestigious polo championship tournament.

Established in 1904, the 2009 US Open Polo Championship™ was played again this year at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, making it a six time host. Seven teams entered the tournament and the field promised to be one of the most competitive in the tournament’s history. Historically, the US Open Polo Championship has always been the grand prize of polo in North America.

The Florida Open International Wheelchair Tennis Championships is sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). The event has taken place in Palm Beach County over the last 19 years. The event consists of the world’s best wheelchair tennis players, attracting nearly 200 participants from across the United States and 25 different countries.

Delray Beach Tennis Center
This youth tennis tournament will take place at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the Delray Swim & Racquet Club, and the Boca West Country Club. The draw consists of 128 players in each gender division (256 total), consisting of the highest-ranked players, 12 years old and under in the US competing in singles and doubles competition. Each player will compete in a minimum of 4 games in 4 days. The winners of the 4th day will continue competing based on single elimination for the championship.

West Palm Beach Municipal Golf Course
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission Golf Classic helps raise money for the various programs the Sports Commission produces and promotes; specifically the Sam Budnyk Scholar-Athlete Scholarship which awards a $20,000 college scholarship to a Palm Beach County student who has exhibited extraordinary talents and accomplishments in academics, community service and athletics. This is the largest scholarship award in Palm Beach County.

AYSO National Games

The AYSO National Games will take place at the International Polo Club in Wellington from July 4-11, 2010. This is one of the most prestigious soccer tournaments in the country, which takes place once every two years. Over 200 teams and 3,500 athletes are expected to come from across the nation to compete in age divisions that range from 8u to 18u. In addition to the tournament, the event will feature a “Soccerfest” or event that reassembles teams for exhibition games, and a social function at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
