Run or walk to help save Malayan tigers! It’s estimated that there are fewer than 300 left in the wild. Proceeds from this race help fund Palm Beach Zoo’s partnership with Wildlife Conservation Society to protect Malayan tigers and their habitat at Endau Rompin National Park in Malaysia. Race registration includes a free tech-style running t-shirt and Zoo admission. Our Big Cat Race Series runs go through beautiful Dreher Park, finishing inside the Zoo. The Briana Marie Cox Memorial Fastpitch Tournament, scheduled for May 20-21, is one of the largest annual softball events taking place annually in Palm Beach County. The event is sanctioned by USSSA and will utilize a variety of softball fields through Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach Cup

Date: May 12 to 14, 2017
Location: Mirasol Park
The Palm Beach Cup is a Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) sanctioned soccer tournament for boys and girls. The tournament will feature close to 190 teams competing in a wide array of age groups, ranging from 8u to 18u, on May 12th-14th,2017. A total of 17 fields will be utilized over several facilities to accommodate close to 300 soccer games. Since the tournament is unrestricted, traveling teams affiliated with other soccer organizations, such as AYSO and US Club Soccer, are welcomed to participate in the tournament. Mirasol Park, Lilac Park, and PGA National Park in Palm Beach Gardens will serve as primary venues for this event.

Boys Jupiter Jam

Date: May 5 to 7, 2017
Location: Burns Road Recreation Center
The Jupiter Jam is one of Florida’s premier basketball tournaments and one of the largest United States Specialty Sports Association USSSA qualifiers in the state. The Jupiter Jam, which is produced by the Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association (JTAA), features separate girls and boys tournaments. The Boys Jam will take place will occur on May 5th-7th, 2017. The tournaments consist of multiple age divisions that range from 3rd grade to 11th grade. Over 12 venues within North Palm Beach County will be utilized to accommodate the tournaments. The Jupiter Jam serves as a qualifier for the USSSA National Championships.

Delray Beach ITF

Date: Apr 29 to May 6, 2017
Location: Delray Beach Tennis Center
The Delray Beach ITF (International Tennis Federation) is a Level 4 ITF event for boys and girls in the 18U divisions. The event will be held from April 29, - May 6, 2017 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center and the Delray Swim & Tennis Club. The main singles draw hosts 64 boys and 64 girls, while a separate qualifying draw hosts another 64 boys and 64 girls. These 256 players will also compete in a doubles draw of 64 teams per gender.

Showstoppers Dance Competition

Date: Apr 28 to 30, 2017
Location: Palm Beach County Convention Center
One of the largest dance organizations in the country, Showstoppers, will bring a competition to the Palm Beach County Convention Center. This dance competition will be held from April 28-30, 2017 and is expected to attract over 500 participants from across Florida and the southeast region. The competition features both boys and girls competing in a variety of age groups (5 to 18). Dancers will compete in team and individual divisions. Competitions for a variety of dance disciplines will be offered, such as hip hop, musical theatre, jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, song & dance, acrobatic dance, baton, clogging, character routine, folkloric, open, and contemporary. Showstoppers own a 39 year history for producing events. Today, the organization generates 65 events per year. Showstoppers’ event at the Palm Beach County Convention will represent its debut in the Palm Beaches.

Showstoppers Dance Competition

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) will partner with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission (PBCSC) and Jupiter Community High School to hold the Florida High School Lacrosse State Championships at Velocity Community Credit Union Stadium on the campus of Jupiter High School on April 28-29,2017. This event represents the inaugural FHSAA State Championship to take place in the Palm Beaches. In 2017, the FHSAA Lacrosse State Championships will consist of four (4) semi-final games on Friday, April 28 which include 2 games in the girls’ division and 2 games in the boys’ division. On Saturday, April 29, this event will feature its championship games for both genders.

West Palm Beach Bacon Ball Tournament

Date: Apr 8 to 9, 2017
Location: Okeeheelee Park
The 2017 West Palm Beach Bacon Ball Tournament is an annual softball tournament between the various police softball teams around the country. Bacon Ball has provided a fun-filled and competitive brand of slow-pitch softball for America’s heroes and has raised millions of dollars, over the past 20 years, for law enforcement associations and unions. In addition, Bacon Ball has supported police softball teams over that same 20 year span, providing prize money to help offset team’s expenses.
