The 2017 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is the world's largest and longest running equestrian competition. The 12-week event, which runs from January 11 through April 2, hosts 6,500 horses and thousands of riders from all 50 states and 33 nations. Participants compete in Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation classifications with prize money exceeding $8 million. In addition to Olympic-caliber competition, WEF hosts the nation’s premier events for children, juniors, adults and amateurs; for riders aged from 6 to 70 years old in more than 70 unique divisions of competition. WEF is a season of intense competition with thousands of competitors and spectators in attendance. Each week is considered an individual horse show with the world’s best riders competing in any given week within 12 show rings throughout the state-of-the-art equestrian show complex.
Visit the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center to enjoy WEF during the day from Wednesday through Sunday and watch 12 arenas with everything from adorable pony hunters to Olympic show jumpers.
During WEF, spectators can enjoy the spectacular Saturday Night Lights, which takes place every Saturday evening beginning at 6 pm. The evening not only consists of the most celebrated show jumping of the week in the International Arena, but an exciting array of entertainment.
