

Palm Beach County, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is set to continue its partnership with Spartan Race to once again host The Palm Beaches Spartan Sprint Weekend, taking place March 29-30, 2025, at Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park in Boca Raton. This endurance event is set to draw thousands of athletes and spectators to Palm Beach County, further solidifying the destination’s reputation as a premier hub for sports tourism.
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission successfully secured the bid to relocate this internationally renowned event to The Palm Beaches for 2019 and beyond. The move reinforces Palm Beach County’s ability to attract world-class sporting events that generate significant economic impact and drive tourism growth.
The Palm Beaches Spartan Sprint Weekend will feature Spartan’s signature Sprint race, a challenging three-mile course packed with approximately 25 obstacles, including fire jumps, tall walls, monkey bars, and rope climbs. The unique flat terrain of Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park allows for an intense, obstacle-heavy experience with back-to-back challenges that will test competitors’ endurance, strength, and determination.

Palm Beach County continues to shine as a premier sports tourism destination, welcoming world-class events that drive hotel occupancy, support local businesses, and showcase the region’s state-of-the-art facilities. With thousands of participants and visitors expected to travel to the area for the Palm Beaches Spartan Sprint Weekend, the event is projected to generate over $3.3 million in economic impact.
The host site Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is a nearly 850-acre space and boasts a plethora of fields and courts that can accommodate many different sports. There is even a golf course and water-skiing center in the park. Due to its large size and variety of facilities, the park is the perfect venue to host an event of this size. The sandy racecourse of the Sprint Weekend is also known in the Spartan community as the “flattest and fastest” track on the schedule, ideal for those looking to complete a personal best finish.
Participants can compete in three divisions:
- Elite Division: For top-tier athletes seeking fierce competition and podium finishes.
- Age Group Division: Featuring brackets for racers aged 14-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+.
- Open Division: Designed for recreational racers looking to challenge themselves at their own pace.
In addition to the main event, the Spartan Palm Beach Sprint Weekend will feature a youth race for children aged four to thirteen, allowing young athletes to take on age-appropriate obstacles and distances.
